Egg Donations: An Alternative to Surrogacy
When faced with problems of infertility, some couples choose surrogacy. This is when a husband's sperm is used to inseminate another woman who will conceive and carry the baby to term before giving the child up to the infertile couple. While this process has worked for some couples in the past, it involves a complicated, not to mention expensive, legal contract which can be challenged in a court of law, often with the surrogate mother winning custody of the child she has carried to term. BocaFertility, is a fertility clinic in Florida that offers an alternative. As an egg donor clinic, we can use in vitro fertilization of donated eggs to impregnate an infertile patient. We only accept egg donations from healthy women between the ages of twenty-one and thirty-two who have undergone extensive screening. The donor can be anonymous, or known by the recipient.
The Process at Our Egg Donor Clinic
Through our in vitro fertilization procedure, eggs provided by the donor are fertilized with the husband's sperm, and the resulting embryos are implanted in the wife's womb. This follows the egg donations, which are heavily monitored for health and viability. Sometimes the eggs are shared with another infertile couple, and this is called "shared oocytes donation."
Our egg donor clinic has a list of donors, or the couple may choose an independent organization to help in the search for suitable eggs. Many people prefer to use a known donor, in order to alleviate concerns about where the eggs have come from.
BocaFertility's donor egg IVF program has achieved a pregnancy rate of eighty percent and a delivery rate of seventy percent over the past two years. If you want to find out about egg donations in Florida or to learn more, call 561-368-5500.
