| Are you willing to undergo extensive screening? At BocaFertility we take a great care to carefully screen the donor as well as the recipient to make the process of egg donation a more pleasant and compassionate one. You can expect to have blood work to screen for infectious diseases, vaginal cultures, family history and detailed personal, gynecologic and surgical history. In addition psychological review and a detailed genetic counseling are necessary to complete the screening process. |
| The process of donating eggs will involve approximately 10 visits to the office. Typically after successfully completing your screening phase and you have been approved as a donor you will be matched with a compatible recipient. You will then be referred to an attorney to review and sign the consent forms for donating your eggs. For your time out of work and travel time you will be reimbursed $5000. |
| You will then be undergoing treatment with fertility hormones involving daily injections for about 10 days. During this time you'll have several ultrasounds and blood tests to monitor the growth of your eggs and determine the appropriate time for their removal. During this time the recipient will be undergoing treatment with hormones to prepare her uterus to accept the developing embryos. The removal of your eggs is performed in the comfortable setting off our in office certified operating room. This procedure is painless and is performed under intravenous sedation administered by a board certified anesthesiologist. The removal of your eggs is done by utilizing vaginal ultrasound and takes about 15 minutes to complete. You can expect to leave the office within 30 minutes after the procedure is completed.
